Spring is Springing!

This week we broke the trend of cold and replaced it with sunny, warm weather.  The snow pack is melting, but the course still about 70% snow covered.  This morning I checked all the greens and so far everything looks great!  We are looking to enter the spring in the best shape in many years.  Still to early to tell when the greens will open, but if I had to guess it could be the 1st week of April.  As we get closer we will update the blog.

Tuesday, March 10th - thaw begins.  Snow was removed from #10 and #13 greens to help the ice melt faster.  We had 3-4" of ice on these greens

The next day (1 day of melt), Wednesday, March 11th - Most of the ice had melted reveling a perfect looking USGA, Bent green - if only all our greens were bent!

Today, Thursday (2 days of melt), March 12th - All the ice is gone.  Scrapes on the green were caused by deer hoofs from last fall as they walked across on a frosty morning.

Thursday - Large drifts and snow/ice remain.  It will take a few more warm days before this melts.  Cart path going to #14 tee.

Thursday -  #6 fairway and green are still completely covered in snow.
