This week we were visited by the American White Pelican. This Pelican typically does not migrate this far East - from its winter grounds in Mexico to its breading grounds in Canada. This is the first time I have seen them on Honey Lake! They have been enjoying the plentiful fish within the lake.

Today (April 11th) we are aerifying greens with the smaller tines and filling the holes with sand. This week we will also aerify the tees and driving range tee. With the warmer weather coming this week, healing should happen quickly! This spring aerification helps to reduce thatch and compaction.
Cold day for aerification, but at least it is dry. We are testing a new device for collecting the plugs. So far so good!
The holes are smaller than those in the fall. The sand will be boomed by hand into the holes
Next step is picking up the plugs and brushing the sand into the holes.
